This build is now offered to slow ring users too
Windows 10 build 10565 was released earlier this week for users enrolled in the fast ring of the Windows Insider program, and earlier today, the company decided to ship new ISOs that allow for a clean install on any PC.
But a few moments ago, the company has started pushing the very same build to users who registered for the slow ring, which means that this particular version is stable and reliable enough to become available for anyone participating to the Insider effort.
Just like before, slow ring users can download this build via Windows Update, but the very same ISOs that were released before also work for a clean install.
Edge improvements, new icons, and better context menus
Build 10565 comes with two major additions to the Edge feature lineup, as the browser now has tab previews, a feature that already exists in rival apps with extensions (Opera has a similar option enabled by default), as well as synchronization for favorites and reading lists.
“In this build, you’ll see a first look at the new syncing feature in Microsoft Edge that lets you sync your Favorites and Reading list items. We are still working on refining it, but definitely check it out and let us know what you think,” Microsoft explained.
At the same time, the new build includes new device icons (which you can view in Device Manager), and redesigned context menus for the Start menu. This change is supposed to improve the consistency across the operating system and make the Start menu blend better in Windows 10.
There still are some bugs in this build, but given the fact that it already reached the slow ring, some of them might already big fixed, which is clearly good news as we approach the release of Threshold 2, the major update that everyone's expecting for Windows 10.
